Health and Safety
Please inform the teacher of every physical condition which might in any way affect your child in school.
In order to prevent the spread of diseases, parents should keep their children home when they show any of the following symptoms:
- Chills
- Earache
- Enlarged glands
- Coughing
- Fever
- Headache
- Pain
- Rash
- Running Nose
- Sore eyes
- Sore throat
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
When your child is out sick three (3) consecutive days, a slip must be brought in from the doctor stating that the child may return to school. (This is a State Law)
If your child is sent home sick by a teacher or nurse/health staff member a child MUST also return with a doctor’s note.
NOTE: If your child is not sick and will not be attending school for more than two (2) days, contact your child’s teacher and social worker, stating why the child is going to be out. A note also should be brought into the teacher for her files.

Fatherhood Program
Our Fatherhood/Brother to Brother Program is up and running!
Our Fatherhood Program, “Brother to Brother,” provides support to fathers throughout East Orange. Through bi-monthly meetings, men have the opportunity to get together to talk, share, and build different parenting skills. Social support networks for fathers and parents are linked to healthy development and school readiness for children. Having social support from similar individuals also reduces stress, enhances coping skills, and helps fathers feel more competent as parents.
Fathers will receive support to:
• Enhance communication between father and child
• Co-parent effectively and with confidence • Handle stressful situations • Deal with child support
• Continue education
Please call for meeting dates and times at 973-676-1110.
